I'm not so much a fan of ICP's music, but rather their live concert experience. I first saw ICP in concert a few years ago with a friend at a small venue in Cleveland. I had never listened to their music before then, and I still really don't, however I still consider myself a fan.
Every year the Insane Clown Posse holds their annual Gathering of the Juggalos a 5 day music festival. This past year, 2012, I was fortunate to attend the 13th Annual Gathering. This was probably one of the greatest experiences and greatest weeks of my life. I went with my friend that I went to the other ICP concert with. I won't go into the full details of the week, but it was amazing. The Gathering was 5 days long, August 8th through the 12th. This years performers included George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Master P, DMX, Biz Markie, Eazy-E’s son, Lil Eazy-E, and Who's Bad, a Michael Jackson tribute band in addition to many Psychopathic Records artists and many other artists.
The Gathering draws tens of thousands of Juggalos every year. One of the main apsects to the Juggalo culture is family and unity, Juggalos are all about family, and they consider The Gathering of the Juggalos the largest family reunion in the world.
The below video is one of the singles off of The Insane Clown Posse's most recent album, The Mighty Death Pop!. The song is entitled "Chris Benoit". The video was directed by The Deka Brothers who also assisted with the video to the well-known Skrillex song
The below video is of the live broadcasted Pay-Per View of ICPs performance at The 13th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos. Just a little interesting tidbit: towards the end of the performance Shaggy 2 Dope takes off his shirt and throws it into the crowd. You can't see it in the video, but I happened to catch that shirt. I still have it, it's a 5XL Tall Pro Club T-Shirt.
You know what confuses me about hip-hop... it's why do they have to have the funky pseudonyms? I mean, it's their choice what they want to be called, and all. But is it better marketing to be called 50 Cent instead of Marcus or Ja Rule instead of Jeffery? What is the subliminal messaage behind these names?
